What is reality series Snake in the Grass on USA about?

A new reality series set in the wilderness with fan-favorite reality stars is coming our way! USA Network’s new show, Snake in the Grass, premieres Monday, Aug. 1.

Ahead of the premiere, the network aired a special preview episode on June 26. It featured former Survivor contestants Yul Kwon, Earl Cole, and Malcom Freberg, as well as Jeff Zausch from Naked and Afraid. This first-look episode will air again on Aug. 15, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Joining the alums in the new competition series are Survivor‘s Cirie Fields, Stephenie LaGrossa Kendrick, and Trish Hegarty. Lacey Jones from the Naked and Afraid franchise, as well as Big Brother‘s Rachel Reilly and Janelle Pierzina will be taking part, Us Weekly reports. New competitors we’ve never met before will also make their debut.

The action-packed social experiment is hosted by radio and television personality Bobby Bones. The show is executive produced by David Garfinkle, Jay Renfroe, Craig Armstrong, and Mike Espinosa. So what can you expect to see in the series?

What is Snake in the Grass on USA about?

In each episode of Snake in the Grass, we will see four players dropped into the Central American jungle for 36 hours. The winning prize is $100,000. In order to win, the four competitors have to figure out which one of them is the “Snake” – a saboteur who is secretly undermining the group every step of the way.

The players will compete in a series of “grueling and mind-twisting” challenges, according to USA Network. One challenge includes retrieving game pieces while being suspended on high wires over a 500-foot canyon!

When each challenge is completed successfully, the group receives a clue that helps reveal the identity of the Snake. And the person whose identity is hidden will do whatever it takes to prevent the others from winning the clues by sabotaging their journey.

After their time in the wilderness, the group will meet in the “Snake Pit” to determine who they think has been sabotaging their challenges all along. If the three players can guess correctly, they get to walk away with the $100,000 prize. But if they get it wrong, then the Snake gets all the money to themselves.

Snake in the Grass premieres on Monday, August 1 at 11 p.m. ET on USA.
