Were you able to catch the brand-new episode of Big Brother season 24 yesterday? If not, there’s no need to worry because we’re here to fill you in on everything you’ve missed.

Once again, all houseguests (minus HOH Matt “Turner” Turner) competed for their chance to secure ultimate power for the week. To do so, they would have to arise victoriously in the first heat of the HOH competition.

In the first half of the competition, each houseguest had to find an envelope containing a red letter amongst thousands of envelopes. The first eight houseguests to find the red letter would be able to move on to the next heat.

In the end, Jasmine Davis, Terrance Higgins, Brittany Hoopes, Monte Taylor, Joseph Abdin, Nicole Layog, Daniel Durston, and Alyssa Snider were the winners of the competition and proceeded on to the final half of the competition.

The second half of the HOH competition required the houseguests to test their luck in a classic slider challenge. Each houseguest had to slide three wine glasses across three separate tables. The farther down the table, the higher the points. If the glass fell off the table, the player would receive zero points. The player with the most points was crowned HOH of the week.

Who is the new HOH?

After an extremely close match, it was Monte Taylor who secured 11 points, dethroning Nicole Layog (who earned 9 points) as the winner of the HOH competition.

Week 5 HOH: Monte Taylor

Which Festie Bestie pair is on the block?

With Monte’s win, the majority alliance, The Leftovers, remains in control for the week. The new alliance decided that it was time to get huge threats out of the game without getting too much blood on their hands, and thus, decided it was time to get either Alyssa Snider or Nicole Layog out of the game.

Monte and his crew decided a blindside was the best way to go about targeting Nicole or Alyssa. However, they wanted to do it in a way that wouldn’t make Taylor Hale feel uncomfortable. After all, the only way to get Nicole on the block is to put both her and her Festie Bestie Taylor up, and, as expected, Taylor didn’t feel okay with being a pawn yet again. Nevertheless, the pageant queen offered to be a pawn one last time if it meant Nicole was absolutely going home. Hearing this, Monte knew what he had to do.

After all was said and done, Monte Taylor decided to put Alyssa Snider and Indy Santos on the block this week. His grand plan is to backdoor Nicole, but if that doesn’t go as planned, both he and The Leftovers don’t mind getting Alyssa Snider out sooner rather than later.

Week 5 Nominees: Alyssa Snider/Indy Santos

Chaos is brewing! It’s only a matter of time before the non-Leftovers put the pieces together. What will The Leftovers do to ensure they get a huge target out of the house? Who will win the Golden Power of Veto? And, most importantly, who will say goodbye to the Big Brother season 24 house on Thursday? All this and more will be revealed later in the week!
