There’s something about true crime shows that captivate audiences. Maybe it’s watching the mystery build up, or maybe we enjoy trying to solve the case as we watch. What is The Hillside Strangler on Peacock about?
The Hillside Strangler: Devil in Disguise details the crimes that took place in East Los Angeles by Ken Bianchi, a serial killer who murdered eight women over the course of a year. The docuseries consists of four episodes, all directed by Alexa Danner.
The Peacock true crime series features interviews with detectives and law enforcement who worked on the case, as well as those who knew Bianchi, including his girlfriend, Sheryl Kellison.
Initially, the community and the police were not too concerned when victims began to show up because they were sex workers. Something that shouldn’t have mattered, and may have helped prevent other deaths. It wasn’t until young girls (ages 12 and 14) were found murdered that the investigation was taken more seriously.
Previously, Peacock released a docuseries that followed the crimes of John Wayne Gacy, titled John Wayne Gacy: Devil in Disguise. Which case would you like to see the Devil in Disguise series take on, next?
You can stream all four episodes of The Hillside Strangler on Peacock now, they were released on Aug. 2, 2022, and are exclusively there so you will need an account. When will you be watching?
