Shadow and Bone Season 2 filming is complete. What does this mean about the release date? When will it come to Netflix? Here’s what we know so far.
There is no doubt that we’re more than ready to see Shadow and Bone Season 2. It’s been more than a year since the first season arrived on Netflix. In fact, it’s been more than a year since we got confirmation the second season was happening.
We’ve double-checked the list of Netflix releases in August, but this show isn’t on the list. That’s not all that surprising. After all, there has been no news about the series. If Shadow and Bone was dropping a new season this month, Netflix would have made a lot of noise about it.
When will Shadow and Bone Season 2 come to Netflix?
We don’t have anything new to share at this point. There isn’t a release date. Netflix hasn’t even given us a rough time frame of when the show will return.
However, we do know that filming is complete. The cast took to Twitter to share that update back in June. This means the series is now in the post-production process, which is a lengthy process. We’re looking at six months at least for this process, but for a show like this, we’re probably looking at more like eight months.
That does mean we’re probably not going to see Shadow and Bone Season 2 arrive in 2022. When filming didn’t start until January, we were somewhat ready for that disappointing fact. However, early 2023 is certainly still possible.
Season 2 is going to be based on the novel Siege and Storm. There will be some changes to fit the Crows into the story in some sort of way as the Crows don’t appear in the main Grishaverse trilogy. What could they be up to next?
Shadow and Bone is available to stream on Netflix.
