Will Dancing with the Stars season 31 air on ABC?
Dancing with the Stars is coming back with all the flair we’re used to this fall! Season 31 of the beloved dance competition will officially premiere Monday, Sept. 19.
Taking on emcee duties this season are new host Alfonso Ribeiro, and returning host Tyra Banks. There was a rumor Banks wouldn’t be coming back, as many viewers of the show aren’t fans of hers. But ABC has decided to keep her around for another season.
The judge’s table will also see the same familiar faces. Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli, and Derek Hough will be back to offer their critiques and scores. The decision to add Hough to the series has been such a smart one. He’s my favorite judge!
The network has also already renewed the reality series for season 32. So we’ve got more dancing in our future! Right now in the very near future, DWTS returns soon, but you won’t find it on TV.
Will Dancing with the Stars season 31 air on ABC?
The competition show has aired on ABC for 16 years. Though now as we head into season 31, the network has decided to shake things up. Back in April the company shared the shocking news that the new season will have a new home, making its debut on Disney+ only instead.
It’s really surprising that after all these years, ABC has moved DWTS to the streaming world. What’s interesting is that the live, weekly schedule will remain. This will be the first time that the streamer tries out this format. A premiere time for Dancing with the Stars season 31 hasn’t been set yet.
Wondering which stars and professional dancers will be waltzing this season? You’ll still have to wait until Sept. 8 to find out. They will be announced on Good Morning America, according to TVLine.
