New Disney+ shows and movies to stream this weekend (August 5)
With the start of a new month comes a batch of new releases, precisely the motto Disney+ embodies. While other streaming services add a plethora of new content, Disney+ spreads the love throughout the month.
In particular, the middle of the week was a heavy release day. While Wednesday can be hump day for some, Disney+ manages to make the day a bit more bearable. For the most part, though, many of us don’t have the time or energy to watch a new show or movie during the week.
That’s why these weekend guides are so much fun as the weekend is the perfect time to sit down and enjoy some content. In particular, it’s always nice to curl up in bed or even on the couch to enjoy some new shows or movies.
This next batch of Disney+ releases was added between July 30th and August 5th.
These new Disney+ releases are perfect for a weekend watch.
This was a pretty big week so there isn’t a long intro so let’s get into the releases.

Essentially, if you’re interested in any of the Disney properties, then there is going to be a release for you from this week. Most notably, this is the perfect weekend to watch something new.
If you’re in the mood for TV, there are plenty of new episodes being added and as for movies, Lightyear is obviously poised to be a huge release for the company.
To start off August, there is a little bit of everything for everyone no matter if you’re an avid watcher of Disney+ or not. Personally, I’m really excited to finally get to see Lightyear as I’m sure a lot of Disney lovers are.
