Last night’s episode of Big Brother season 24 was one of the funniest episodes we’ve had this season. But underneath all that ridiculousness was a whole lot of sneaky gameplay you absolutely need to know all about. Here’s what you missed!

Following Nicole Layog’s shocking exit, the remaining houseguests went head-to-head in a new HOH competition. This competition required all players (except for previous HOH Monte Taylor) to walk across one of three balance beams as quickly as possible.

The catch was each balance beam had a different path, and depending on which path they chose, the houseguest would either take the long, curvy beam with enough space to run or the narrow, short beam with minimal space. No matter the path they chose, so long as they hit the button at the end faster than their peers, they secured their chance to be HOH of the week.

Below are the results.

Who is the HOH of Week 6?

Initially, Daniel Durston was the fastest houseguest to make his way across the balance beam. However, Michael Bruner hit the button much faster than Daniel (or anyone else for that matter), once again cementing why he very much so is the comp beast of Big Brother season 24.

Week 6 HOH: Michael Bruner

Being a member of the Leftovers, a.k.a. the most dominant alliance in the house, Michael entertained the idea of doing his alliance’s bidding. But he had a couple of doubts after realizing the person the house wants out may not be the person he needs out just yet. And so, with his anxieties running high, he decided to make a move riddled with his sneaky ulterior motives.

Which Festie Bestie pair is on the block?

In the end, Michael decided to put the Festie Bestie trio Terrance Higgins, Joseph Abdin, and Monte Taylor on the block. At the moment, he plans to potentially backdoor Monte, one of three physical threats in the house right behind Joseph and Kyle Capener. However, if this week doesn’t go according to his plan, he has no issue with doing what his alliance wants to do in the end: send Daniel Durston packing right behind Nicole Layog.

Week 6 Nominees: Terrance Higgins/Joseph Abdin/Monte Taylor

Although things are looking a little rocky for the Leftovers alliance, the veto competition is still on the way, meaning that either Terrance, Joseph, or Monte can win and pull themselves down, thus, securing safety for another week. Even still, with Michael being the comp beast that he is, it’s fairly possible that this HOH may win the veto, keep nominations the same, and send one of his allies out the door.

What will HOH Michael Bruner do this week? You’ll have to watch a brand-new episode of Big Brother season 24 on Wednesday, Aug. 10, at 8:00 p.m. ET and Thursday, Aug. 11, at 9:00 p.m. ET on CBS to find out!
