A Friend of the Family cast: Who stars in the Peacock series?

There’s so many movies and shows out there that are based on true events, some of which are hard to comprehend that they could actually be real. Peacock‘s new series, A Friend of the Family, falls into that category.

In real life, Jan Broberg was kidnapped twice by family friend, Robert Berchtold. It happened once when she was 12, and a second time when she was 14 years old. When Jan was taken, Berchtold sexually assaulted her. Both of her parents also had intimate relationships with the “family friend” at different points.

The limited drama, set to premiere Thursday, Oct. 6, will tell this disturbing true story of the Broberg family. In the show, we’ll see how their daughter Jan Broberg was kidnapped more than once over the years by their family “friend,” Robert Berchtold. The family is unprepared for the ways their neighbor exploits their vulnerabilities, drives them apart, and turns their daughter against them. This is a tale of how their lives were permanently changed, and how they survived

Nick Antosca created, wrote, and executive produced the upcoming series. The real Jan Broberg and her mother Mary Ann Broberg are also producers on the nine-episode Peacock show. So who took on the responsibility of portraying the Broberg family?
