How many awards have The Walking Dead won as a television show?
The Walking Dead is a show that has been nominated and won 10 times. This is not including individual acclamation. They are already coming off the win for the best Horror Television series in 2021. Let’s hope they win it once more. There is nothing Angela Kang would like more than another win to the farewell season of The Walking Dead.
Lauren Cohan is a fresh face to the awards but she has been a long time member of the cast before taking a break for two years to pursue other things. She is now back and having a ton of screen time, so this nomination is no surprise.
Melissa McBride is a veteran to the awards and only female original cast member left on the show. She has been nominated every year since 2014. McBride won the award consecutively in 2014 and 2015. There hasn’t been the amount of screen time that Melissa deserves this season but the actress never needs much to light up the screen. Andrew Lincoln said it best before his departure from the show.
"“Melissa McBride is a remarkable actress. You kind of look at her, then look at the screen, and go how is the outcome even happening?”"
Melissa McBride should really win all the awards because what she can do with so little is a phenomenal thing you don’t see too often. She has made Carol the fan favorite that she is.
This is Jeffrey Dean Morgans 5th nomination for The Walking Dead. He has won the award twice and been nominated 4 times prior. It’s a bit of a mystery to us all why he is never in the lead actor category, because that’s what he is. As he moves on to Isle of The Dead and being the main male star there we will look to see him take over that category soon.
Aisha Tyler and Coleman Domingo from Fear the Walking Dead are also nominated. We celebrate everyone in TWDU and we are pulling for them all to bring home some hardware. They are all beyond deserving of the honor.
The ceremony takes place on October 25th that will be live-streamed on ElectricNOW. Follow @SaturnAwards on Twitter for all the updates and wins as they always tweet them out live and show pictures of the 50th edition celebration. Tune in to cheer on the best of The Walking Dead and congratulations to all of you amazing actors and actresses who make the apocalyptic universe what it is.
