Rocky star Sylvester Stallone will be fighting, but this time it won’t be in the ring. The actor’s new movie, Samaritan, will see him don on a superhero cape. Well actually, not quite.

The film introduces us to 13-year-old Sam Cleary who suspects his mysterious and reclusive neighbor Mr. Smith (Stallone) is actually a hero hiding in plain sight. If you’ve seen the trailer, you’ll know that the young teen’s hunch was definitely right!

25 years ago, Granite City’s super-powered vigilante, Samaritan, was believed to have died in a fiery warehouse battle while fighting his rival, Nemesis. Most people believe the story, while others like Sam have hope that the hero is still alive. With crime on the rise and the city on the brink of chaos, Sam pushes his neighbor to draw him out and help save their city from ruin.

There’s nothing more popular than superhero stories, we just can’t get enough! And this one sounds so heartwarming. I’m sure the superhero and young teen will form a strong friendship, which will be the center of the movie. We know how these tales play out by now!

The upcoming movie stars Sylvester Stallone as Joe Smith/Samaritan, Javon Walton as Sam Cleary, Pilou Asbæk as Cyrus, Dascha Polanco as Isabelle, and Moisés Arias as Reza Smith. Bragi F. Schut wrote the script, with Julia Avery taking the lead behind the scenes as director.
