How many Saw movies are there? (and where to stream them)

The Saw movies make up one of the most popular horror movie franchises in the genre. I would also say these movies are some of the bloodiest out there, notoriously known for the amount of gore featured. Adding to the list, the Saw movie series also has one of the most installments in the horror genre. Just how many Saw movies are there? Many! And there’s another one on the way. Here’s where to catch up (or rewatch) every Saw movie so you’re ready for the next one, and what we know about the Saw 10. 

How many Saw movies are there?

There are a total of nine Saw movies out at the time of this writing, with a tenth installment coming in 2023. After the first movie premiered on Oct. 29, 2004, one movie was released every year in October until 2010. Watching the movies on premiere night, just in time for Halloween, became a tradition to many.

After Saw 3D in 2010, there wasn’t a new movie until the year 2017, titled Jigsaw. Then, we got Spiral on May 14, 2021. This movie followed a copycat, so it was slightly different than the others. However, the biggest difference was the premiere date, nowhere close to Halloween, which was disappointing.

Saw 10 release date

A release date for the next Saw movie has already been set for Oct. 27, 2023 — so we’ll be getting back to Halloween premieres, which I’m very excited about. The movie does not have a title yet (that we know of), but at least there’s a release date for us to look forward to. Bloody Disgusting reports that Kevin Greutert will be directing this movie, who you may remember directed Saw VI and Saw 3D.
