9 movies and shows to stream this weekend (August 26)
Friday has finally arrived! It’s time to clock out and enjoy the weekend, which, to many, means catching up on movies and shows we may have missed. Or, if you’re all caught up, this is the time to find something new. Do you know what movies and shows to stream this weekend? If not, you’ve come to the right place!
Below, we share nine movies and shows now streaming for you to check out this weekend. We include picks from Apple TV+, Netflix, Hulu, and more! If you don’t see a streaming platform listed, that’s because we didn’t feel they had anything worth watching (or just nothing new this weekend).
Movies and shows to stream on Apple TV+
Bad Sisters: If you missed the premiere of Bad Sisters, you’re in luck! Only the first two episodes dropped on premiere date (Aug. 19), and one episode will be released each Friday — so you have three to watch this weekend and you’ll be all caught up!
Five Days at Memorial: Now, there are several episodes already streaming on Apple TV+, but it is very much worth watching. The hype is real for this one. If you’re looking for a longer series to enjoy, this is it.
See season 3: Need something fresh and new? The third season of See is now streaming! Only the first episode is streaming, the rest will drop one at a time each Friday. Here’s the episode schedule if it helps!
Movies and shows to stream on HBO Max
House of the Dragon: Do we even have to say it? House of the Dragon is the hottest (no pun intended) new series on all of television. If you want to catch up, you’re not too far behind at all! Check it out this weekend.
The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug extended version: If House of the Dragon has put you in a fantasy mood, HBO Max has plenty of movies you can watch, our pick this weekend is this extended version of The Hobbit.
Movies and shows to stream on Hulu
Welcome to Wrexham: Hulu took notes from Apple TV+ and released their own soccer series, but this one is as real as it gets. The docuseries, Welcome to Wrexham, stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney and follows journey after buying a soccer team in Wales.
Movies and shows to stream on Prime Video
Samaritan: Who doesn’t love an action movie over the weekend? Samaritan stars Sylvester Stallone as a former superhero named Samaritan. He has been hiding and keeping to himself for two decades, but a young boy figures out his secrets and wants Samaritan to clean up the streets again.
Movies and shows to stream on Netflix
Loving Adults: Over at the streaming giant, Loving Adults, a Danish crime-thriller, is now streaming for your adrenaline cravings.
Me Time: Another film to check out on Netflix, is Me Time, starring Mark Wahlberg, Regina Hall, and Kevin Hart.
