12 Netflix action movies and shows to stream in September 2022

September is here! With it has come new releases on Netflix. For actions fans, what’s coming this month is a little on the light side in comparison to other months, but that’s not to say the streamer doesn’t have some choice selections for action movies and shows. We just have to warn you that after Sept. 1, you’ll be waiting until the middle of the month and near its end for new Netflix original content in the action genre.

The first of the month will see three movies from the Resident Evil franchise make their land on the platform. That’s the 2002 original, its sequel Apocalypse, and 2012’s Retribution. So, if you enjoyed the short-lived Resident Evil (2022) series, you’ll be able to check out some of the franchise’s original run in September. Also available for viewing are classics like Road House, A Knight’s Tale, and The Italian Job.

Athena, a French film about the political firestorm unleashed when a boy loses his life in an alleged police altercation, will leave its mark on Netflix toward the tail end of the month along with Lou. The violent rescue movie starring Allison Janney and Jurnee Smollett will drop viewers into one woman (and her neighbor)’s fight to get her kidnapped daughter back.

Closing out the action movies is Fullmetal Alchemist The Final Alchemy, a live-action adaptation of the hit anime series. Speaking of animated content, that’s the entirety of this month’s action shows line-up.

The most anticipated release is the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners series in the middle of September but fans of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure STONE OCEAN can expect episodes 13-24 to come on the first. Samurai Rabbit: The Usagi Chronicles season 2 will also be available for any kids who crave some action in their TV watching lives, too!
