When Yellowstone first arrived back in 2018, no one could have predicted the success the series would end up enjoying or how big the show would end up becoming.

Set against the backdrop of the Yellowstone Dutton Ranch in Montana, the series follows the Duttons, a ranching family, as they work to protect their land (and legacy).

While most shows tend to decline in buzz as they go on, Yellowstone has been a rare exception with its season 4 finale pulling in a whopping 9.3 million total viewers in the Live+ Same Day demographic — up 81% from is season 3 finale — making it the most-watched cable telecast since The Walking Dead‘s season 8 premiere dropped on AMC in October 2017.

Yellowstone is one of the biggest shows on all of television, with both fans and critics applauding the show. But has the show’s critical love translated to Emmy wins?

Yellowstone Emmy nominations

Four seasons into its run, Yellowstone has only managed to secure one Emmy nomination which is truly shocking. The show’s one, and thus far only, Emmy nomination came in 2021 when the show was nominated for Outstanding Production Design For A Narrative Contemporary Program (One Hour Or More).

Despite delivering one of its best seasons to date with season 4, the show and its incredible cast were completely shut out of this year’s Emmy nominations. As such, you won’t be hearing Yellowstone read off as a winner on Emmy night or even as a nominee.

Yellowstone Emmy wins

Yellowstone might be one of the most-watched shows on all of television, but that success somehow has yet to translate to love from the critics voting for the Emmys. Despite its status as an acclaimed series that fans can’t get enough of, Yellowstone has yet to take home an Emmy in any category.

Not only has the show not yet won an Emmy, but it wasn’t even nominated in 2022 meaning fans will have to wait until 2023 to see if the series can finally break through and secure its first Emmy win. Given the show’s ever-growing popularity, there’s no telling what the future could hold for the show and we’d definitely be shocked if the show continues to be overlooked by the Emmys.
