Elemental release date, voice cast, synopsis and more

During D23 Expo, we got to know a little more about Elemental, an upcoming animated film that tells the classic story of forbidden lovers who are willing to face all odds to be together.

We not only got to see a sneak peek at what’s to come—including the aesthetics of the film, the personalities of the characters, and the overall plot of this Pixar animated film—but also got to know when exactly you can expect this title to drop in theaters. Of course, it would absolutely be beside us to not share this exciting news with you!

Elemental release date

Grab your calendars, phones, or whatever you need to jot down the fact that Elemental is officially heading your way on Friday, June 16, 2023, in a theater near you. The movie will likely land on Disney+ once it leaves theaters.

Elemental voice cast

The Half of It star Leah Lewis will be voicing the lead character, Ember, while Archive 81 actor Mamoudou Athie will be featured alongside her as Wade.

The rest of the voice cast will be announced at a later time, but we, thankfully, don’t have to wait too long to give Peter Sohn a special shout out, as this talented creative (who worked on Finding Nemo, Luca, and the like) serves as the director for this title. Safe to say, we’re in good hands.

Elements synopsis

As mentioned previously, Elemental follows the story of two individuals who, at face value, are polar opposites who shouldn’t be together.

Ember is a flame who carries herself with the utmost respect and dignity, while Wade, just like his water element, is a happy-go-lucky guy that rides whatever wave life throws at him. Even still, together, they learn that their various physical differences are no match for how similar their souls actually are.
