The moment we have all been waiting for arrives tonight — Dancing with the Stars is back! Will you be watching? Is Dancing with the Stars season 31 going to air on the ABC network on top of also streaming on the Disney+ platform? If you have questions, we’ve got answers.
As we’ve said before, this season of Dancing with the Stars will be unlike any other season before it! The biggest change being that season 31 will stream on Disney+ instead of airing on the ABC network. So what does this mean for commercial breaks, episode length, voting, and streaming?
Is Dancing with the Stars season 31 episode 1 going to air on ABC tonight?
No. This new season of DWTS will not air on its old home, ABC. To watch, you’ll need a Disney+ account (sign up for a free trial if you don’t already have a subscription). It’s a big move for the beloved dance competition series.
The show kicks off at 8 p.m. ET on the Disney+ and is set to last for approximately two hours, so around the time we are used to, but we know to expect many surprises and new, fun twists. Hosts Tyra Banks and Alfonso Ribeiro are sure to give us a good time. The premiere episode will introduce the teams and we will get to see their first dance (and their first DWTS score). No one will be eliminated tonight, since it’s their first round. At least that’s what we think! Like we said, expect the unexpected tonight!
