What is Walker season 3 about on The CW?

Walker season 3 is almost here! Fans of the hit CW series can anticipate being dropped into the immediate aftermath of Cordell’s abduction. He’d been unceremoniously tossed into the back of a truck with the perpetrator of his kidnapping left under wraps.

While it hasn’t been that long of a wait to find out what’s set to happen next, we know viewers have been anxious to know who took Cordell and why. Come Thursday, Oct. 6 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW, that story will begin to unfold.

It’s also a special time for the network and the Walkerverse as this franchise is set to usher in a new spin-off in the prequel series, Walker Independence. The show is a period piece that takes place in Independence, TX during the1800s. It’ll follow Abigail Walker, Cordell’s ancestor, whose arrival in town comes on the heels of witnessing her husband’s murder.

With the show’s addition to The CW’s line-up, Walker Thursdays will officially become a 2-hour block of programming on the network similar to All American Mondays for the popular sports drama and its spin-off, All American: Homecoming.

What is Walker season 3 about?

The official synopsis for the premiere “World on a String” via The CW:

"Picking up where we left off in season 2, it’s graduation day and the Walker family is turning a corner into a seemingly hopeful future that is until Cordell goes missing, and his mysterious captors are trying to break him down physically and mentally. Meanwhile, Captain James, Cassie and the rest of the Rangers have all hands on deck to bring Cordell home safely but Stella has ideas of her own on how she can help."

Saving Cordell is obviously going to be of high priority for all of his loved ones. And, his kidnapping is somehow connected to his investigation and something that happened in his past that’s coming to rear its head in clearly life threatening ways.

Also, this season, fans will get an answer to the question Cordell asked Trey. Will he become a ranger? Jeff Pierre sure hopes so. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, he expressed that his excitement reading the season 2 finale script woke his baby up.

Walker season 3 cast

Unlike last season, there has yet to be any cast shake-ups announced. Season 2 saw the departure of Lindsey Morgan in the role of Micki, Cordell’s partner. Viewers were introduced to Cassie Perez, played by Ashley Reyes. While she and the show’s hero had a rough beginning, their partnership is sure to be challenged by Cordell’s abduction in the coming season.
