By Sabrina Reed
Criminal Minds has been revived for Paramount+!
The series will be sporting a brand new tagline. Criminal Minds: Evolution serves as a continuation of the show picking up after the events of season 15 of the original series. While fans of the show, which ran from 2005-2020, will be reunited with some of their favorite characters this will be a new era for the beloved procedural.
Expect new stories and new twists for what President of Paramount+ Original Scripted Series Nicole Clemens calls “a new generation of viewers” at the streamer. Erica Messer (Criminal Minds and Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders) was tapped for showrunner and serves as an executive producer and writer on the series as well.
Messer is joined by Breen Frazier and Chris Barbour as writers and executive producers. Glenn Kershaw has signed on as a director and executive producer while Mark Gordon will serve as an executive producer as well.

As Hidden Remote reported previously, Matthew Gray Gubler and Daniel Henney won’t be reprising their roles of Dr. Spencer Reid and Matt Simmons for the revival.
There’s been no word on whether Shemar Moore will return for at least a cameo. He is, however, filming for the sixth season of S.W.A.T. so the likelihood of Derek Morgan making an appearance is low, but we haven’t ruled it out.
Additions to the series
Zach Gilford as Elias Voit, an operations analyst with an obsession with death. Gilford will have a season long arc as a recurring guest star. His character works at a global cyber-security firm and has a dark side that proves ominous.
According to IMDb, Mia Coleman will play Harlow Voit in the series. Johnny Cannizzaro will play a character named Ryan Tucker. We’ll keep you posted on more additions as news comes in!
