As another season of Saturday Night Live is about to kick off on NBC, fans want to know who all is (and isn’t) in the SNL season 48 cast. It seems like more cast members than ever have decided to part ways with the sketch comedy series. This means we’ll be seeing a lot of new faces when season 48 debuts.

The latest SNL cast member who announced would not be returning to SNL, is fan favorite Chris Redd, but he isn’t the only one who won’t be returning. Need to catch up on cast departures and announcements? We’ve got your back!

Some of the new faces we will see in season 48, include:

  • Marcello Hernandez
  • Molly Kearney
  • Michael Longfellow
  • Devon Walker

Who is leaving Saturday Night Live?

  • Chris Redd
  • Kyle Mooney
  • Kate McKinnon
  • Aidy Bryant
  • Pete Davidson
  • Melissa Villasenor
  • Alex Moffat
  • Aristotle Athari

Chris Redd won’t be coming back. The actor and comedian has a standup on HBO Max coming later this year, titled Chris Redd: Why Am I Like This? Redd is looking to branch out and take on more individual projects. Kyle Mooney will also not return.

Fans were the most shocked, however, when they learned Kate McKinnon, Aidy Bryant, and Pete Davidson were also leaving ahead of season 48. These SNL vets are considered essential to the series and we can’t imagine Saturday Night Live without them.

Earlier this month, Melissa Villasenor, Alex Moffat, and Aristotle Athari announced they were also departing.

NBC also announced the hosts and musical guests. When the show premieres on Oct. 1, Miles Teller will host and Kendrick Lamar is going to provide the music. And on Oct. 8, Brendan Gleeson is set to host with musical guest Willow. Finally, on Oct. 15, Megan Thee Stallion will light up the stage as both host and musical guest.

Who are you the most excited to see on Saturday Night Live season 48? More celebrities will be announced in the next coming weeks.
