Is Saturday Night Live new tonight? (Sept. 24, 2022)
Although many of our favorite primetime shows kicked off their new seasons this week, the wait for new episodes of Saturday Night Live will continue for another weekend. That’s right, there will not be a new episode of Saturday Night Live to enjoy this evening on NBC. Instead of airing a new episode, NBC will instead be showing a rerun of season 47, episode 18 which saw Lizzo pulling double duty as host and musical guest.

The bad news is that there won’t be a new episode of Saturday Night Live airing tonight, but the good news is that you won’t have to wait too much longer to enjoy a new episode of NBC’s long-running series!
When does Saturday Night Live return? (2022)
New episodes of Saturday Night Live will finally return to NBC’s schedule beginning on Sunday, Oct. 1 with the season 48 premiere. As always, the new episodes will air at 11:30 pm ET on Saturday and will yet again be 90 minutes with the episodes ending at 1 a.m. ET.
Oct. 1 has been the expected return date for the series all summer long, but NBC finally confirmed the premiere date for the new seasons just a few short weeks before when also announcing the first three hosts of the upcoming season.
Who is hosting the Saturday Night Live season 48 premiere?
Saturday Night Live season 48 will kick off with actor Miles Teller hosting the first new episode of the season. The Top Gun: Maverick star will be joined by musical guest Kendrick Lamar in what should be an exciting opening episode for the season.
Following Teller’s hosting debut on Oct. 1, NBC has lined up actor Brendan Gleeson to host on Oct. 8 with musical guest Willow and Megan Thee Stallion to host and serve as musical guest on Oct. 15.
