What is Western film Horizon starring Kevin Costner about?

Kevin Costner is no stranger to Westerns thanks to his Paramount Network series, Yellowstone. Now, he’s taking those talents to a new epic Warner Bros. Western film, Horizon. The actor is also directing, and co-wrote the script of the upcoming movie with Jon Baird, according to Collider.

He’s got a full, star-studded cast lined up including The Lost City of Z actress Sienna Miller, Avatar lead Sam Worthington, Stranger Things‘ Jamie Campbell Bower, Lost’s Jeff Fahey, Legally Blonde actor Luke Wilson, Orphan: First Kill actress  Isabelle Fuhrman, Thomas Haden Church, Jena Malone, Alejandro Edda, Tatanka Means, and Michael Rooker, the news outlet reports.

According to Collider, the film is currently in production in Utah and there is no release date set yet. While we don’t know when it’s coming, we have an idea of what to expect from the upcoming movie.

What is Horizon starring Kevin Costner about?

According to Deadline, Horizon takes us through a 15-year span of pre and post Civil War expansion and settlement of the American West. Experienced through the eyes of many, the multi-faceted epic journey is full of peril and intrigue from the constant onslaught of natural elements, interactions with the indigenous people who lived on the land, and the determination, and many times ruthlessness, of those who have settled it.

While we wait for Horizon, you can check out Costner on his current series, Yellowstone. The show follows the conflicts along the shared boarders of a large cattle ranch, an Indian reservation, and land developers. Season 5 of the Paramount Network series will premiere Nov. 13, 2022.
