East New York cast: Who’s in the new CBS show?
CBS‘ new police procedural, East New York, takes us into the 74th precinct in the working-class neighborhood on the edge of Brooklyn. The series premiered on Sunday, Oct. 2.
The pilot episode was on air at 9:30 p.m. ET. But beginning Oct. 9, the second episode and beyond will move to the show’s regular time slot at 9 p.m. ET. Episodes are also available to stream live on Paramount+. Installments are added to the streaming service the next day they air.
The show follows Regina Haywood, the newly promoted boss of the 74th precinct in East New York. The neighborhood is on the midst of social upheaval and the early seeds of gentrification. As she has family ties in the area, Haywood is determined to come up with creative methods to protect her beloved community with the help of her officers and detectives. But first, she has to win them over as some are skeptical of her promotion, and others resist the changes she’s trying to make.

Shrewd veteran two-star Chief John Suarez is Haywood’s mentor, Marvin Sandeford is a highly respected training officer and expert on the neighborhood, Detective Tommy Killian has old-school approaches to policing, Capt. Stan Yenko serves as Haywood’s gregarious and efficient right hand, Crystal Morales is an intuitive detective who can’t be intimidated, and Brandy Quinlan is the only one who volunteers to live in a local housing project as part of Haywood’s plan to bridge the gap between police and community.
