HBO Max’s Velma cast: Who will voice the iconic characters?
HBO Max’s Velma series has been highly anticipated and now we know who the voice cast will be. Executive producer and actress Mindy Kalig announced the news of who would be in the Velma cast alongside her while at New York Comic-Con on Oct. 6.
The series is set to focus on Velma Dinkley’s origin story. She has always been known as the brains of the Scooby-Doo gang and this will be an exciting look into who she was before joining the team.
There will be 10 episodes in season one and the series is set to debut next year. However, the show is geared more towards adults, as hinted at in the teaser for the series.
Kalig herself will be voicing Velma, which the show is centered around. Of course, we can’t forget the rest of the Scooby-Doo gang.
Who will be joining the Velma cast alongside Mindy Kalig?
The series will also star Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile and Crazy Rich Asians actress Constance Wu as Daphne. Joining the two ladies will be Ted Lasso star Sam Richardson as Shaggy, and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia actor Glenn Howerton as Fred.
While we still do not know what other characters will be featured, we do know some of the stars who will be appearing on the series. We’ll hear the likes of Ken Leung, Jane Lynch, Debby Ryan, Wanda Sykes, and Shay Mitchell.
HBO Max also has a movie called Trick or Treat Scooby-Doo! However, the Velma series is not associated with it, although Kaling did say at Comic-Con that Velma might go through her own self-discovery in the show.
Unfortunately, we won’t get to see Scooby-Doo in the Velma series, as they did not have permission from Warner Bros. Animation. But it’s sure to be a fun movie for adults to enjoy!
