Mayfair Witches finally has a release date, and it’s coming our way in early 2023! We’ve known the show was in the works since December 2021, and have been waiting for updated news. Following the recent release of Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire, AMC+ is now adapting another of the author’s works.
The series stars Alexandra Daddario, Jack Huston, Tongayi Chirisa, and Harry Hamlin. Esta Spalding serves as showrunner, writer, and executive producer on the series, with Michelle Ashford taking on writing and executive producing duties.
So when exactly can we expect to see the new show that brings with it all kinds of witchy business!? We’ve got the answer for you below!
Mayfair Witches release date on AMC+
Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches is set to debut Thursday, Jan. 5, 2023 on AMC+. The first two episodes of the eight-episode season will begin streaming on premiere night. Then, installments will be released weekly until the finale on Thursday, Feb. 16.
The series is based on the Lives of the Mayfair Witches trilogy novels by Rice. The books are under the supernatural horror/fantasy category, so our guess is that we’ll be seeing darker themes.
The upcoming show focuses on an intuitive young neurosurgeon, Rowan (Daddario), who discovers that she is the unlikely heir to a family of witches. As she grapples with her newfound powers, she must contend with a sinister presence that has haunted her family for generations.
The trailer reveals these darker themes, show us how unprepared Rowan is for her new responsibility, and takes us into the Mayfair House that holds its own secrets and mysteries. Check out the video below!
