When does the next season of The Crown come out on Netflix? This is a question many fans have been asking themselves lately as anticipation for the upcoming fifth season continues to build.
While The Crown has long been one of Netflix’s most talked about programs known for wowing critics and fans alike, interest in the Netflix Original drama about the life of Queen Elizabeth II and the Royal Family has understandably grown in recent weeks following the Queen’s passing on Sept. 8.
As is often the case when we lose someone as iconic as the Queen, with a storied legacy, there is a natural curiosity among individuals following the death of a public figure to learn more about their life. This tends to lead to a regained interest in documentaries, movies and shows about the figure’s life which has been the case with The Crown.
Following the Queen’s death, the Netflix original series quickly returned to the Netflix Top 10 as audiences around the world began diving into the series about the Queen’s life and legacy. Now, audiences are more eager than ever to know when the next season will be arriving as they look to continue their dive into the history of the Queen via Netflix’s acclaimed drama.
When does The Crown return? (2022)
Following another extended hiatus, The Crown will return for its fifth season on Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2022, which is a bit of a change from the show’s usual release strategy. While new seasons have traditionally been released during the month of November, the new seasons have typically debuted on a Sunday night.
In the new season, a new decade begins as we enter the ’90s with a new group of actors coming into the fold to portray key members of the Royal Family. With the new decade in its stride, the Royal Family are presented with possibly their biggest challenge to date; as the public openly question their role in 90’s Britain.
The season will welcome the arrivals of Imelda Staunton as Queen Elizabeth II, Jonathan Pryce as Prince Philip, Lesley Manville as Princess Margaret, Dominic West as Prince Charles, Elizabeth Debicki as Diana, Salim Daw as Mohamed Al Fayed and Khalid Abdalla as Dodi Fayed.
The Crown seasons 1-4 are streaming now on Netflix.
