The Good Doctor Season 6 premiere saw the doctors save Dr. Lim’s life, but it wasn’t without a sacrifice. What happened to Audrey?

At the end of The Good Doctor Season 5 finale, we worried about the fate of Dr. Lim. She’d been stabbed, but nobody could hear her. Would someone finally be able to get to her in time?

Those answers came during the Season 6 premiere. The doctors did manage to get to her and finally got her to surgery. However, Shaun made a decision that would have a serious consequence for Dr. Lim.

Dr. Lim was paralyzed in The Good Doctor

Shaun acted fast, going with the surgical route that he thought would be best. Glassman wanted to go through another approach, but he didn’t get there in time to take over from Shaun. There were problems with the blood vessels during the surgery, and that led to Dr. Lim being paralyzed from the waist down.

She can still operate but changes need to happen for her to do that. Her whole life is going to change now.

The M&M report showed that Shaun’s decision may have caused Dr. Lim to have been paralyzed. Glassman blames himself. Had he just been five minutes faster, he could have gone with his approach. He and Lim believe that his approach wouldn’t have put her in a wheelchair. Of course, nobody can guarantee that, but Lim is holding onto anything right now.

She needs someone to blame for being in the wheelchair. The easiest option is the doctor who operated on her: Shaun Murphy. This brings an end to their friendship, and Lim even suggested that she’d rather be dead rather than in a wheelchair. Really, the guy who stabbed her is the blame, but Shaun is the easy target for her anger right now as she works through this grieving process.
