We have entered the start of the Christmas movie season, and I couldn’t be more excited. Below, I share a quick list featuring six November movies to watch and three to skip, because, if we’re being honest, they’re not always worth it.

Look, so many movies are released monthly that it’s tough to keep up. From the plethora of streaming platforms to cable to movie theaters, you never know whether the ones are worth your time or not. So, we try to skim over that big list of movies and find the ones that should be on your radar to watch and skip.

New November movies to watch

Causeway – Apple TV+ (and select theaters) Nov. 4

Lynsey is a US soldier trying to find her way back into life after suffering a traumatic brain injury while deployed. The film takes a profound look at two broken people trying to navigate life while facing the issues that caused them to be broken. The film stars Jennifer Lawrence as Lynsey and Brian Tyree Henry as James.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever – In Theaters Nov. 11

I’m equal parts excited and scared for Wakanda Forever. Seeing this movie and franchise move on without Chadwick Boseman will be very emotional. However, I have all the faith in Ryan Coogler to honor Boseman and make a sequel worthy of its predecessor. The latest phase of the MCU needs a big win.

Spirited – Apple TV+ Nov. 18

Okay, Ryan Reynolds and Will Ferrell are two people I am very neutral on when it comes to movies. However, a musical version of Charles Dicken’s story that can spark the mood for Christmas? I am all the way in, folks. At worst, it can be a fun time.

She Said – In Theaters Nov. 18

The journalism story of New York Times reporters Megan Twohey and Jodi Kantor who help spark the launch of the Me Too Movement with their story of the decades of sexual assault in Hollywood. Reports have stated this is one of the films at the forefront of the Academy Awards race, and I can’t wait to see it for myself at this year’s AFI Festival.

Bones and All – In Theaters Nov. 23

A movie about cannibalism coming out the day before Thanksgiving? I see what UAR is doing with this release pattern, and I like it. Everyone’s favorite actors, Timothee Chalamet and Taylor Russell, star in this coming-of-age tale of a young woman trying to survive in society. I’m sure people will eat this one up (see what I did?).

The Fabelmans – In Theaters Nov. 23

Steven Spielberg teaming up with Tony Kushner to write and direct a film about his childhood is something that sounds rather delightful to me. Plus, you have a star-studded cast that includes Michelle Williams, Paul Dano, Seth Rogen and Judd Hirsch. I am eager to check this one out.

New November movies to skip

My Policeman – Prime Video Nov. 4

Sorry, Harry Styles fans, this one looks terrible. And after a somewhat lackluster performance in Don’t Worry Darling, I have zero desire to see him back in another movie for a long time.

A Christmas Story Christmas – HBO Max Nov. 17

Nobody and I mean nobody, has seen the Christmas Story more than me, partially due to my wife playing that movie over and over again during the Christmas season. With that being said, NO ONE asked for this sequel. Seriously, WHY? I don’t understand this urge to rehash so many things anymore that it’s become overbearing.

Slumberland – Netflix Nov. 18

Does this look like it MIGHT BE fun? Sure. Does this movie look like it MIGHT BE terrible? 100%. Jason Momoa has a long history of bad movies, and while he seems like he is having fun in the trailer, I’m skipping this movie.

From our list of November movies to watch, which are you the most excited to see? Did we miss any?
