BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing has surpassed its halfway point, meaning that the competition should be heating up from here on out. But this year’s edition of the show has been one of the most hotly-contested ones early on (with some front-runners falling into the Dance-Off earlier than expected), it’s hard to imagine it getting any more competitive.

But that brings us to Week 8, as the remaining nine couples now danced their hearts out (and their feet off!) for a chance to dance at the legendary Blackpool Tower. Yes, Blackpool Week is back and it’s just one week away. But who is in danger of missing out on the experience?

Here are the Strictly spoilers, results, and scores from the Week 8 Saturday night show of Strictly Come Dancing.

Strictly spoilers and results: Week 8 Leaderboard

This week’s episode of Strictly was all about who would get to Blackpool and emotions were certainly running high throughout the night.

Kym Marsh and Will Mellor both delivered emotional routines that had viewers in tears, while Fleur East brought the house down with a breakthrough Samba that had the judges on their feet. Molly Rainford was also impressive, delivering a technically-strong Rumba that had Head Judge Shirley Ballas praising her Rumba Walks, and Hamza Yassin closed the show on a high with a powerful Couples Choice routine.

Here are the results from the Strictly Week 8 Saturday night show, the scores, and the Leaderboard we were left with:

  • Fleur & Vito danced the Samba – 9, 10, 10, 10 = 39
  • Will & Nancy danced the Waltz – 9, 10, 10, 9 = 38
  • Hamza & Jowita danced the Couple’s Choice – 8, 10, 10, 10 = 38
  • Molly & Carlos danced the Rumba – 9, 9, 10, 9 = 37
  • Helen & Gorka danced the Salsa – 8, 8, 8, 8 = 32
  • Ellie T & Johannes danced the Charleston – 7, 8, 8, 8 = 31
  • Kym & Graziano danced the American Smooth – 8, 7, 8, 8 = 31
  • Tyler & Dianne danced the Paso Doble – 6, 8, 8, 9 = 31
  • Tony & Katya danced the Jive – 4, 6, 7, 7 = 24

Who is in danger on Strictly Week 8?

This series has been going out of its way to turn everything on its head, as the people at the bottom of the Leaderboard have been saved from the dreaded Dance-Off almost every week (in spite of being the most vulnerable). We saw this just last week, as Tony Adams and Ellie Taylor were the bottom two on the Leaderboard and were both saved by the public, landing higher-scoring contestants Ellie Simmonds and Molly Rainford in the Dance-Off.

We could see a similar situation this week, as Tony is once again at the bottom of the Leaderboard. With three couples tied above him (and another tie near the top of the Leaderboard), the public vote is going to be even more important this week, as it will break the ties.

Fleur should be safe at the top of the Leaderboard, while Hamza and Will are also in strong positions tied in second place. Everything below that will likely be up to the public. And with Blackpool Week on the horizon, anything could happen in that Dance-Off.

Updated, Sunday November 13: Tony Adams decided to withdraw from the competition after an injury left him unable to compete in the Dance-Off. Tony and Katya had landed the Dance-Off alongside Tyler and Dianne, but Tony’s withdrawal meant that Tyler went straight through to Blackpool Week.

Tony had a great run and really improved as a dancer over his eight week journey. Revisit his final performance on the Strictly dancefloor below.
