What is the movie She Said about?

We’re entering into the chillier months of the year, but nothing is like the even more chilling story found in the next movie release, She Said. This biographical-drama details the journalistic unfolding of the now-ongoing sexual abuse allegations against Harvey Weinstein, a former Hollywood producer and the founder and former chairman of Miramax Pictures.

The main cast includes Carey Mulligan (Promising Young Woman), Zoe Kazan (The Big Sick), Andre Braugher (Brooklyn Nine-Nine), Jennifer Ehle (Fifty Shades of Grey) with Mike Houston as Weinstein.

The movie is directed by Maria Schrader from a screenplay by Rebecca Lenkiewicz. The movie is a film adaptation of the book, She Said: Breaking The Sexual Harrasment Story That Helped Ignite A Movement. It’s produced by Plan B Entertainment and Annapurna Pictures, and distributed by Universal Pictures.

What is the movie She Said about?

She Said  follows two New York Times journalists, Megan Twohy (Carey Mulligan) and Jodi Kantor (Zoe Kazan). The two published a report that brought allegations of sexual abuse against Weinstein (Mike Houston).

While this film is a dramatized version of what actually happened, it can serve as a companion to the true story, which came at a time when members of Hollywood championed the #MeToo movement.

The movie also illustrates the steps taken by others to help protect Weinstein’s image while Twohey and Kantor worked to uncover his actions. TwoHey and Kantor helped the women making allegations against Weinsten to break their silence and share their stories.

When is She Said coming out?

The movie premieres this weekend, Friday, Nov. 18. Since this is the first weekend of its theatrical release, you’ll only be able to watch it, as of now, at your local movie theater. Options to stream She Said should be coming soon but this is definitely a film worth watching with others in a theater, online, or offline.
