It seems Disney has decided to go full force with their newest series in development, The Acolyte. We all know that the Star Wars franchise has a plethora of content and history that has only expanded the universe even further than what it was last year. And it is showing no signs of slowing down.

The Acolyte is said to take place a century before the events of The Phantom Menace. That seems like the best laid plans for the series because it’s about time fans got a prequel to the prequels.

The series is set to be about a Padawan learner who reunites with her Jedi Master as the two investigate a series of crimes that have been committed. Moreover, it will take its viewers into a number of shadowy secrets of emerging powers in the dark side in the final days of the High Republic, all according to the Deadline report.

If that didn’t sound captivating enough, the plot just leads to more questions about the players of the series. Who is set to star in the series and what role will they play? Here’s a quick list of the cast.

The Acolyte cast

There have been a plethora of actors that have been cast in the series. However, it remains unclear what roles any of them will be playing. All that is known is that the series revolves around a Jedi Master and Padawan during the High Republic era. The show runners seem to have taken the vague approach of what ill occur, but there is no arguing that the cast seems very promising.

Despite all of that, there seems to be a litany of talented artists behind the forthcoming series:

  • Amandla Stenberg
  • Lee Jung-jae
  • Manny Jacinto
  • Dafne Keen
  • Jodie Turner-Smith
  • Rebecca Henderson
  • Charlie Barnett
  • Dean-Charles Chapman
  • Carrie-Anne Moss

There is certainly enough talent attached to the series that it may prove to be another win for Disney+. Do you think the series will be a hit? Who will have a pivotal role?
