Let your imagination run wild with Steven Spielberg’s most recent semi-autobiographical theatrical release, The Fabelmans is out now!

The movie stars Paul Dano as Burt Fabelman, the patriarch, Gabriel LaBelle as Samuel “Sammy” Fabelman, Michelle Williams as Mitzi Schildkraut-Fabelman, Sammy’s encouraging mother and a skilled pianist, Seth Rogen as Bennie Loewy, Judd Hirsch as Boris Schildkraut, and Julia Butters as Reggie Fabelman.

The Fabelmans centers around the fictional Sammy Fabelman, a boy who falls in love with film after his parents take him to see “The Greatest Show on Earth.” Inspired by it, he decides to start making his own movies at home with the support of his mother. The film was directed, produced, and written by Spielberg, alongside known playwright, Tony Kushner as his co-scribe.

Why is The Fabelmans movie rated PG-13?

The Fabelmans has a PG-13 rating attached to it. Given by the MPAA, this rating means that the film may contain coarse language, sensuality, violence, and/or drug use.

The movie is geared towards all ages as the story focus on a young boy throughout the entirety of the film. We can confirm that there is harsh language and some instances of violence in the film but don’t let that rating deter you from watching the movie in theaters with your loved ones as the plot falls within the “sweet and sentimental” sector of movie viewings.

It’s a dramatized call-back to Spielberg’s childhood so the Spielberg super-fans out there should have this movie on their watch lists as soon as possible.
