Why aren’t Kym and Graziano on Strictly tonight? (Has Kym Marsh left Strictly Come Dancing?)

If you’re watching Strictly Come Dancing Week 10 tonight, you’ll probably notice that there is one couple missing from the line-up (and no, we’re not talking about Tyler and Dianne, who were eliminated last week!). Kym Marsh and Graziano Di Prima are not competing tonight.

After their powerful Paso Doble lit up the Blackpool dancefloor last week, they were revealed to be safe by Tess Daly and were set to perform their Couple’s Choice routine this weekend. However, it was revealed during the week that will no longer happen on tonight’s episode.

Has Kym left Strictly?

Why aren’t Kym and Graziano on Strictly tonight?

As revealed during the week, Kym Marsh tested positive for Covid-19 and will miss this week’s show of Strictly Come Dancing. A statement from a Strictly spokesperson confirmed Kym and Graziano’s absence this week, reminding audiences that “Strictly Come Dancing protocols mean that all being well, they will return the following week.”

This is the first time a contestant has been given a bye this series, but it isn’t the first time that it has happened. Last series, both Tom Fletcher and Judy Love were given byes in different weeks after they tested positive. In both cases, they were able to return to the competition the week after their absence.

All being well, Kym and Graziano will return to the Strictly ballroom for the Quarter Final, which also happens to be Musicals Week. The pair have become one of the fan-favorite couples in Strictly this year, with the judges praising Kym on her improvement over the course of the series. Their Argentine Tango is widely regarded as one of this year’s best routines, and it saw them score an incredible 37 – their highest score yet.

Graziano took to Instagram to reflect on the couple’s performance in Blackpool last week, adding that he and Kym are “Coming back stronger next week”.

Strictly Come Dancing airs on BBC One on Saturday and Sunday nights.
