Disney animated movies and TV shows are known for filling audiences with nothing but glee. From Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers and Turning Red to The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder and Baymax!, the beloved production studio has never ceased to wow us with its many compelling titles. And you can bet that Disney isn’t slowing down anytime soon!

With 2023 fast approaching, plenty of animated titles are slated to be on the way; some of which have been on fans’ radars for quite awhile. It’s high time for us to fill you in on what’s in store so that you can make a plan for those movie tickets (and binge-watch sessions) for you and the family.

Here are all the Disney animated movies and TV shows coming in the next year!

Disney animated movies and series coming in 2023

At the time of writing, Disney is confirmed to release plenty of sequels and spin-offs for some of your favorite titles. The studio also has tons of original projects currently in production.

Without further ado, here are all the Disney animated movies and series set to be released in 2023 in theaters and Disney-affiliated platforms (i.e. Disney Channel, Disney+, etc.), as well as a blurb about what you can expect from each title:

Iwájú – Inspired by Nigerian culture, this title will explore a futuristic world where limits don’t exist and people don’t fear facing predicaments head-on. Release Date: TBA for Disney+.

Kiya and the Kimoja Heroes – A kid with super abilities takes on the responsibility of saving the world with her high-powered martial arts skills. Release Date: TBA for Disney+.

Monsters at Work season 2 – Continuing from where the previous installment left off, this new season will explore Tylor’s path as a Jokester — the job he’s always wanted. However, he still has a lot to learn and may require some assistance from monsters who don’t mind showing him the ropes. Release Date: TBA for Disney+.

Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur – An animated series that follows Lunella Lafayette, a little girl who makes the most of her mistake of reviving a prehistoric dinosaur in the modern world. With her gigantic creature by her side, she sets off to make the world a better place. Release Date: Feb. 10, 2023 on The Disney Channel and later on Disney+.

Pupstruction – This animated title gives us a peek into the day in the life of a pup-ran construction company. Release Date: TBA for Disney Junior and Disney+.

Star Wars: The Bad Batch season 2 – The sophomore season of the animated series will follow the reconstruction and revitalization of a new Empire now that the government everyone once knew is no more. Release Date: Jan. 4, 2023 on Disney+.

Star Wars: Visions season 2 – The second season of this anthology series will be better than ever. Each episode will be produced by animation studios worldwide to give audiences a look at how each country was and is inspired by Star Wars. Release Date: Spring 2023 on Disney+.

Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures – An animated TV show where Yoda teaches children how to become strong and proper Jedi Knights. Release Date: Spring 2023 on Disney Junior and Disney+.

The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder season 2 – The animated title’s sophomore season will continue to follow Penny Proud’s life now that she’s older and is on a mission to become more independent without her doting family’s help. Release Date: Feb. 2023 on Disney+.

Tiana – A musical comedy based on the 2009 film Tiana and the Frog. This installment will depict Tiana’s life as she juggles being the princess of Maldonia and a talented cook itching to share her skills with the world. Release Date: TBA for Disney+.

What If…? season 2 – The anthology series returns with a second season featuring new stories with all your favorite superheroes. Release Date: TBA for Disney+.

Win or Lose – Championship games are enjoyed by everyone, regardless of each person’s involvement in the manner. This animated series will explore the different perspectives of a community participating and/or watching the Pickles’ hair-raising softball championship game. Release Date: Fall 2023 on Disney+.

Wish – A musical film about a young princess who embarks on an epic journey when she decides to uproot her royal life and chase a shooting star. Release Date: Nov. 22, 2023 in theaters.

X-Men ’97 – Your favorite superheroes return with missions that are sure to get you on your feet. This series aims to give you the same feeling you experienced when you watched X-Men: The Animated Series for the first time but will do so in a way that will catch the attention of longtime fans and newcomers alike. Release Date: Fall 2023 on Disney+.

Last but not least, Disney fans will finally get to see Elemental. The upcoming film follows a water elemental and a fire elemental who explore how their biological differences bring them together in a surprising and unique way.
