Who’s ready to watch Christmas in Rockefeller Center on NBC tonight? Raise your hands high! The annual tradition in the Big Apple delights many nationwide, and is a staple during the holiday season.

The two-hour special will be broadcast on the network Wednesday, Nov. 30 at 8 p.m. ET. The event is produced by Emmy Award-winning Brad Lachman Productions, according to NBC. Lachman and Bill Bracken take on executive producing duties, with Julia Knowles directing.

The tradition dates back to 1931 when the first Rockefeller Christmas tree was brought in. Though the first tree lighting occurred in 1933 two years later. That means 2022 is the 90th anniversary of this holiday event! This year’s tree stands tall at 82 feet and will twinkle in the night with over 50,000 LED lights and a Swarovski star placed up high.

Obviously it wouldn’t be Christmas without the tree lighting, but the two-hour event will also include special performances to keep us entertained. Who can you expect to see? We’ve got the answer for you below!
