Survivor season 43 week 10 power rankings: Who could go home next?
By Ricky Frech
There are only seven players left in Survivor 43 now that Noelle has been voted out. That means everyone is laser-focused on solidifying their spot at final tribal council. With several advantages still left in play, this really is anyone’s game.
That said, my power rankings have significantly shifted as we’ve reached the stage where the true threats are going to be targeted. While players like Jesse and Karla have controlled the game thus far, this is the point in the game where that really could come back to bite them. With that in mind, let’s take a look at where every player stands.
Survivor season 43 week 10 power rankings
Out) Noelle Lambert (Last: 8) – As mentioned, Noelle is the latest player out of the game. She’s been consistently targeted as someone who has a great social game, but that’s mostly been in the form of players taking out her allies. Unfortunately for her, that luck ran out. It’s hard to point to her doing anything too terrible in terms of strategy though. She played a solid game and her vote-out is likely more of a sign of respect over anything else.
7) Sami Layadi (Last: 4) – I’ve been saying all year that Sami is playing well, but can’t win. This week, we saw people starting to turn on him, branding him as untrustworthy. He might actually have a chance to make it to the end based on that, but it’s hard to see a jury voting for him at this stage. I’m bumping him to the bottom because he feels like the easiest person to cut if things go sideways for anyone.
6) Owen Knight (Last: 7) – Is Owen actually in a good spot now that the major alliance is going to have to turn on each other? Potentially. However, I think other players are better positioned both in the tribe and on the jury than Owen. He’ll need at least one move to call his own to have a chance, and that’s after working his way into numbers by fracturing that alliance. He has a path, but it’s very narrow.
5) Karla Cruz Godoy (Last: 2) – This might be an overreaction on my part, but I think Karla is in pretty bad spot after the last two weeks. She continues to lose potential allies and I just don’t see Gabler as a solid number for her. She needs to turn everyone against Jesse, which could happen, but Karla seems like the kind of player who will get clipped at five or six. After having her on top of my power rankings for nearly the entire season, I’m hoping my read is off, but I’m cooling off Karla’s winner’s edit just a bit.
4) Mike Gabler (Last: 5) – Speaking of Gabler, he has no chance of winning, but is probably sitting at final tribal council unless something drastic happens. He just hasn’t made any real moves in the eyes of the jury and is seen as too erratic.
3) Jesse Lopez (Last: 1) – Another potential overreaction, but Jesse’s edit is pointing toward players starting to clock on to how much power he has. If you’re a Jesse fan (which I am), you’re hoping he’s done enough to put the target on Cody instead of himself. However, I don’t think that’s the case. I do have him ranked higher than Karla because he and Cody have more power via advantages. After all, two idols will always trump one idol as long as they’re played correctly. Jesse is definitely playing the best game so far, but that doesn’t mean he’s playing the winning game.
2) Cody Assenmacher (Last: 3) – I pipping Cody over Jesse because the edit is telling us that Jesse is in control of this alliance. If that’s how the players see it, Jesse is in much more danger than Cody. Of course, I don’t know if Cody can win given how over-the-top he can be. That said, I think he’s in a solid spot with that idol and a potential Jesse shield keeping him safe.
1) Cassidy Clark (Last: 6) – I’ve been saying all season that Cassidy is our best chance for an Erika-like run to victory and now I’m going all-in on that. She continues to get content and be involved in the strategy and the next few votes are the perfect opportunity for her to slip in and tilt the numbers in her favor. If she can orchestrate a vote to get out either Karla or Jesse in the next two votes, she’s going to set herself up very well heading into the finale.
