The popular heist drama, Now You See Me, premiered in theaters in May 2013 and quickly became a favorite. From the star-studded cast to the clever story writing, there’s so much to love about the movie. Three years after its release, the sequel Now You See Me 2 opened in theaters. There have also been chats about a third movie, but news and updates have been radio silent. Is Now You See Me 3 still happening?
The first movie stars Jesse Eisenberg, Mark Ruffalo, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, Dave Franco, Michael Caine, and Morgan Freeman among others. The movie follows a team of talented magicians and illusionists who call themselves the Four Horsemen. Their tricks are enchanting and mesmerizing, and their shows are for a good cause. Sorta. The Four Horsemen steal from the wealthy and corrupted using their trick, and federal agents are trying to stop them.
Now You See Me 2 follows the Four Horsemen as they now find themselves in trouble in China. Tech wiz Walter Mabry (Radcliffe) hires the illusionist to steal a chip that can control every computer in the world.

We’ve done the research so you don’t have to! The last update we could find comes from Collider on Sept. 29, 2022. According to the source, Bobby Cohen and Secret Hideout’s Alex Kurtzman are set as producers, with Meredith Wieck and Chisom Ude overseeing the project for Lionsgate. Zombieland director Ruben Fleischer is set to helm the third movie. And that’s the last update we’ve had.
Movie Web notes that the movie could be coming “sometime in 2023,” but this was back in Sept. 2022, so a lot could’ve happened. My guess is very late 2023 or early 2024. That is, if the movie is still going to happen.
As always, stay tuned as we will be updating this page as soon as we learn more details about Now You See Me 3, fingers crossed it is still in the works at Lionsgate.
