Author Cheryl Strayed’s book, Tiny Beautiful Things: Advice on Love and Life from Dear Sugar, is being adapted by Hulu into a television series! What’s notable about this work is that the novel is a collection of essays from the writer’s real-life advice column, which she had written anonymously.
Reese Witherspoon is staying busy creating all sorts of projects with her production company, Hello Sunshine. The actress serves as an executive producer alongside her Big Little Lies co-star Laura Dern. Joining them with EP duties are Lauren Neustadter, Jayme Lemons, Cheryl Strayed, Stacey Silverman, and Kathryn Hahn.
Showrunner Liz Tigelaar also executive produces. The drama stars Hahn in the leading role of Clare, Sarah Pidgeon as Young Clare, Quentin Plair as Danny Kincade, Tanzyn Crawford, Owen Painter as Young Lucas, Merritt Wever as Frankie, Elizabeth Hinkler, and Michaela Watkins.
So what can you expect to see in the series? We’ve got the answer for you below!
What is Tiny Beautiful Things on Hulu about?
Tiny Beautiful Things centers around Clare (Hahn), a writer who becomes a “revered advice columnist” while her personal life is falling apart, according to Hulu. At the start of the series, we’re going to see her marriage to her husband Danny (Plair) is barely surviving and her teenage daughter, Rae, is pushing her mother away. Plus, her writing career is basically non-existent. So things aren’t really going great for the main character.
When an old friend tells Clare to become the next advice columnist of Dear Sugar, she’s reluctant at first. But this leads her to reflect on important moments from childhood to her present day. While Clare helps her readers heal, she finds that she’s doing the same for herself.
