Strictly Come Dancing has been entertaining audiences in the United Kingdom since September, but this week, the TV show comes to an end for another year.

There are just four couples left in the competition and they are all competing in the Grand Final to win that Glitterball Trophy. After a hotly-contested Semi-Final saw Will Mellor and Nancy Xu eliminated, the four Strictly finalists are Helen and Gorka, Molly and Carlos, Hamza and Jowita, and Fleur and Vito.

But after quite the few schedule shifts this series due to the FIFA World Cup, when can fans expect Strictly this week? Is it on Friday or Sunday again, or will it be back in its typical Saturday night slot?

What day is Strictly on this week (and what time does it start at?)?

Strictly Come Dancing is coming home for its Grand Final. That’s right, The Final will air on BBC One on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at 7:05 p.m. GMT. It will also run for two hours and 30 minutes due to the amount of routines (three) each of the four couples will be performing.

As this is the final, there will be no Sunday night Results show, with the winner being announced at the end of the Saturday night episode instead.

This is the first episode of Strictly to air in its typical Saturday night slot in three weeks, with the last one being the post-Blackpool Week 10 show. It has been moved around the schedule over the past couple of weeks due to the UK broadcasters’ coverage of the World Cup, with BBC choosing to move it so it could either broadcast a match or to avoid having it clash with ITV’s broadcast of a match instead.

It goes without saying that it will be great to have Strictly back on screens on Saturday night where it belongs.
