Fans of Fire Country were left on edge in the show’s fall finale. Episode 8, “Bad Guy,” was a roller-coaster of emotion as Vince and Bode wrestled with the memory of the car accident that took Riley Leone’s life.
In flashback scenes, we became privy to Vince being on the scene after Bode had been pulled from the car and the father learned while one of his children had been saved, the other died in the aflame wreckage of the vehicle they had been in.
Vince was triggered by a present day accident that reminded him of what happened to his daughter. As such, he wasn’t in the right headspace to make difficult, life saving decisions. By the time his team and Manny’s were able to leap into action, the window for saving one of the accident’s trapped victims began to close.
Unwilling to let the driver die, Bode made the reckless choice to climb into the teetering car despite knowing that he could meet his own end if he didn’t move quickly. He was able to save the young man with Vince’s help, but the chief wasn’t able to grab his son’s hand in time to pull him out of the car before it fell off the bridge and into the water.
Max Thierot is an executive producer and the star of Fire Country so his character, Bode Donovan, isn’t going anywhere. Who’s going to save him though? Here’s what we know!
