Another year is almost in the books and it’s clear Disney+ has a lot to celebrate! Here are Disney+ shows and movies to watch.

All in all, 2022 was a great year to be a Disney fan and to be subscribed to Disney+. Not only did we get all of the theatrical releases on the platform, but there were plenty of original TV shows and movies added.

While the reviews on all the 2022 releases have been mixed, to say the least, there were some gems among them all. No matter how you feel, it’s clear Disney isn’t going to be slowing down anytime soon. If anything, the platform is ramping up even more. Before we finish out the year, these new Disney+ releases might be exactly what you need.

New Disney+ shows and movies to watch this weekend

Sometimes, Disney does try to mix it up with the release schedule, but not this week. We only got releases on two days out of the week. Despite this list being a bit smaller than normal, there is still to be excited about so let’s get into it.

  • Generation X, Season 1 (Dec. 28)
  • Savage Kingdom, Seasons 1-4 (Dec. 28)
  • Street Genius, Seasons 1 and 2 (Dec. 28)
  • Wicked Tuna: Outer Banks Showdown, Season 1 (Dec. 28)
  • Encanto at the Hollywood Bowl (Dec. 28)
  • National Treasure: Edge of History, Episode 4 (Dec. 28)
  • Willow, Episode 6 (Dec. 28)
  • Black Pharaohs: Sunken Treasures (Dec. 30)
  • Generation Youtube (De c. 30)

As you can see, Disney+ slowed things down with this final group of December releases. Even so, you can still get caught up on new episodes of National Treasure: Edge of History and Willow plus there’s the exciting Encanto at the Hollywood Bowl special. No matter how you’re deciding to say goodbye to 2022, Disney+ should have you covered on something to enjoy this holiday weekend and maybe, even something to ring in 2023 with.
