With the way things ended in the first season, we need House of the Dragon Season 2 right now. That’s not happening. When could we see the season premiere?
It took some time to build up to it, but the Dance of the Dragons has officially begun. The first season ended with bloodshed. Whether Aemond meant it or not, he was responsible for the death of his nephew and he has started the bloody war that is about to come.
The bad news is we don’t get to see how it will all play out just yet. House of the Dragon Season 2 is happening, but it’s not going to premiere in January 2023. In fact, there’s a chance that we won’t get to see it at all in 2023.
When will House of the Dragon Season 2 premiere on HBO?
There have been a lot of shocking decisions when it’s come to HBO and HBO Max. Westworld has been removed from the streamer and is being offered up elsewhere. This was once one of HBO’s biggest shows, so it was a shocking decision and likely makes a lot of fans worried about Game of Thrones and the House of the Dragon spin-off.
To make matters worse, George R.R. Martin has said that the other Game of Thrones spin-offs are up in the air thanks to the turbulence at HBO, according to TVLine. The only good news to take from this is that House of the Dragon isn’t canceled.
That doesn’t mean we’ll get it in 2023. Casey Bloys had already said that we shouldn’t expect it until early 2024 at the earliest due to how long production and post-production take. He gets the process well and has seen shows like this throughout his time at HBO. Why should we doubt him now? It’s disappointing, but we’d rather have a series that is well done instead of rushed out quickly for us.
House of the Dragon is available to stream on both HBO and HBO Max.
