2023 is starting off strong for horror lovers as we just got our first big movie of the year and it doesn’t disappoint! Megan (stylized as M3GAN) follows an AI doll who becomes close with and extremely attached to an orphaned girl named Cady (Violet McGraw). At the time of this writing, the new sci-fi horror movie has an impressive 95% on Rotten Tomatoes from 110 critics, with the consensus saying it’s “unapologetically silly” and “delivers chuckles as effortlessly as chills.” We’re in!
NO spoilers for Megan below.
Megan just debuted in theaters today, Jan. 6, and so far it’s been extremely popular across social media. If you’re heading out to check out what all the buzz is about this weekend and want to know whether or not you should stay put in your seat after the credits start to roll, here’s everything we know about a potential post-credits scene.
Does M3GAN have an after-credits scene?
Though Megan doesn’t have a long runtime at just 102 minutes, if you need to race out of the theater once it ends, you totally can! We’re here to confirm Megan does not have an end-credits scene.
While horror movies aren’t known for post-credits scenes like the Marvel Cinematic Universe is, there have been some pretty creepy ones, for example in Insidious, Cloverfield, Jeepers Creepers, and Evil Dead. It would be fun if Megan had one, but perhaps we’ll get one in a sequel — if another movie happens! Producer James Wan does have some ideas for a sequel.

Megan is now playing exclusively in theaters.
