A new Dracula film is coming out, but this time it’s centered around the Prince of Darkness’ loyal servant. This film is all about the titular character, Renfield! Be sure to mark you calendars for Friday, April 14, 2023 when the production makes its theatrical debut.
Nicholas Hoult takes on the role, with actor Nicolas Cage playing the infamous Dracula. The movie also stars Awkwafina as Rebecca Quincy, Ben Schwartz as Teddy Lobo, and Adrian Martinez as Chris Marcos.
The film is directed by Chris McKay, with the script penned by Ryan Ridley based on an original idea by Robert Kirkman, according to Universal Pictures. Kirkman, David Alpert, Bryan Furst, Sean Furst, and Chris McKay all produce. Samantha Nisenboim serves as an executive producer.

What is the movie Renfield about?
The horror comedy is centered around Renfield, the “tortured aide” to Dracula, per the synopsis. The main character is forced to bring his master prey and do anything he asks for. But when centuries of servitude start to weigh on Renfield, he decides a change needs to happen. The loyal servant wants to get out from under Dracula’s thumb, but has to figure out exactly how to do so.
The trailer reveals Renfield going to a support group for help and to talk about his narcissistic boss, the powers he gets in exchange for working for Dracula, and some of the tasks he’s asked to do. Check out the video below:
