After what’s felt like an eternity, Bob’s Burgers is back for the new year and a new episode to get us back into season 13.

Season 13 has been a pretty good season for the Belchers. Yes, there have been some mistakes, messes, and lots of unfortunate moments. In the end, though, the family is still sticking together and that’s part of the reason why the show is so beloved.

While there are plenty of other reasons why Bob’s Burgers is so beloved, we’re here to talk about the latest episode. Entitled “Cheaty Cheaty Bang Bang,” that doesn’t give us a lot to go on but it does give me plenty of questions before I actually watch the episode which is always good.

If you haven’t watched the season 13 episode, “Cheaty Cheaty Bang Bang,” there will be spoilers from this point on.

Here’s everything you missed in “Cheaty Cheaty Bang Bang”

The episode begins with Tina at school getting ready for her history test along with her siblings but everything is interrupted by an announcement from Mr. Frond about Accountability Billy. It all comes to a head when Tina accidentally looks at Susmita’s paper and when she looks, she sees Chelsea, looking at the test to cheat. Tina feels guilty the rest of the night so Louise explains that she needs to tell Chelsea she won’t rat her out the next day.

Unfortunately, the next day is a snow day so the kids are home from school and the house has no heat so they decide to build a shelter while Bob is trying to get Teddy to come help but he can’t so he gives Bob someone else to call. Tina keeps feeling bad so Louise convinces her to call Chelsea and Chelsea says that she told on Tina.

Tina starts freaking out and she decides to call Mr. Frond to try and clear things up. He doesn’t answer so she decides to walk to his house in the snow and tell him the truth. Bob decides to look for Tina. Meanwhile, she is having a crisis, talking to Accountability Billy in her head but is interrupted by Teddy who is on his way to the Belcher household.

Eventually, Tina comes clean about everything to the family and Linda explains that Tina will second-guess doing that in the future and that she’ll remember how she feels so she won’t do it in the future. The episode ends with Tina not getting in trouble since Chelsea didn’t tell on her.

”Cheaty Cheaty Bang Bang” is a snowy surprise on Bob’s Burgers.

The first episode after the holidays has the potential to be a mixed bag. Whether it’s good or bad, it’s one to look forward to. However, “Cheaty Cheaty Bang Bang” was a surprise for multiple reasons. First, it’s one of the few episodes where the kids actually get a snow day and I loved seeing the siblings bond. While Tina made some questionable choices, it was fun to see all of them making the best of a bad situation.

The other surprise was how paranoid Tina got and what she was willing to do. I know Tina is supposed to be a good kid who isn’t the brightest. Even so, it felt like some of her actions were a little over the top. Yes, she shouldn’t have looked at her friend’s paper but she didn’t need to go to the lengths to prove she wasn’t a cheater.

Last but certainly not least, I thought it was a nice touch to have the Belchers deal with a heating issue. Maybe nice isn’t the right word, but I’m sure a lot of us can relate to that and it’s part of the reason why I adore this show. Those little details and Bob almost making things worse is classic Bob’s Burgers. While this isn’t going to be a new favorite or particularly memorable for me, it was a good way to ease back into the season.
