Sheila Carter did it again! The infamous woman has pulled the Houdini move that Deacon didn’t think she’d be able to pull off, but she got her miracle on Jan. 10’s episode of The Bold and the Beautiful. Or should I say that her scheming panned out like it was supposed to? It takes skill to be a slippery as she is, and you have to applaud her for it because she’s always achieving the seemingly unachievable.

Blackmail of the highest order greased the way to freedom for Sheila. And, she had a man on the outside making sure everything went to plan. Bill Spencer was an unexpected ally, but it is true that when it wants something he gets it and what he wanted was her freedom. Steffy and Finn had no choice but to bend to his will, so that smile and glee that Taylor was sporting during her lunchtime hang out with Brooke is about to be wiped clear off her face.

Here’s the full recap of events.

What happened today on The Bold and the Beautiful?

In truth, the only storyline viewers care about right now is Sheila’s hearing, but we still had to give our attention to Brooke and Taylor’s continued time together at Forrester Creations. Once more we were treated to the two congratulating themselves for making the hard decision to choose themselves and leave Ridge.

I have to say though, Taylor seems to be the one truly banking on this friendship holding tight. And it does seem contingent on Brooke not backsliding and welcoming Ridge back into her life romantically. She even threw Bill out as an option for Brooke if she’s looking to date since she thinks they’re good together. Considering Taylor had shamed her new friend for that relationship in the past, that was a surprising sentence to hear coming from her but I guess as long as it’s anyone but Ridge, she’s fine with it now.

The two also discussed Sheila’s hearing. Taylor has had endless lines about Sheila finally getting what she deserves. So much so that it seemed pretty obvious that she would not be staying in jail for long. As such, it’s doubtful Taylor and Brooke are going to be in the mood for the girl’s night they started to plan after trying on dresses together in the main office.

Taylor left Brooke with a skip in her step as she rushed off to hear the good news from her daughter and son-in-law that they no longer have to worry about Sheila. It’s a shame her bubble is going to get popped because Sinn didn’t testify. At the last minute they chose to recant.

All Finn had to say was that he had nothing to say. And, after Sheila asked the judge if she could say a few words and then proceeded to give a speech on how much she loves them and how Taylor’s such a good, well-respected person who’s a role model and so gracious, Steffy made a speech of her own.

Once more she denied Sheila’s claim that she’s a member of their family. Steffy has no intention on welcoming her with open arms. As she stated, Sheila has done irreparable harm, what she did was unforgivable and they do not accept her. However, she, too, chose not to testify against Sheila and dropped the charges she was pressing against her.

Unfortunately, Steffy and Finn hadn’t been read in on the updated facts of the case. They’d been under the impression that Sheila would still stand trial for escaping prison and evading the police, they were wrong.

Judge Craig McMullen informed them that according to testimony provided by Mike Guthrie, Sheila was removed from prison against her will, thus becoming a victim of kidnapping. There’s video evidence that corroborates his statement. Therefore, those charges have been dropped, and since no one else has come forward with evidence against Sheila, she’s free to go.

It was a wild moment that left Steffy screaming and Bill feeling vindicated as he spied on the hearing via the feed he was patched into. Sheila gave her daughter-in-law one last smirk before exiting the premises and starting the process for her release. What an ending!

Until next time, Bold fans. Stay beautiful.
