It’s time to give the underappreciated brains of the Mystery Inc. some love! Yes, I’m talking about Velma Dinkley. The adult animated series Velma is now streaming on HBO Max and there are even more episodes to come. And, perhaps, a second season if all goes well? Hidden Remote is here to keep you posted.

Velma on HBO Max follows Vela Dinkley, the brains of the whole operation, if you ask me. Now, we know her from the Scooby-Doo universe as a bold and courageous character. She has always been one step ahead of the game (and the tricks). Out of everyone at Mystery Inc., Velma is our favorite “meddling kid.” But how did it all start? Where is the character from and how did she meet the other members of the Mystery Inc.?

In this series, we get to know all about this intelligent character — but this is now family or kid series! This is HBO Max’s adult animated series, you’ll have to see it when the kids go to sleep. So when are new episodes out and how many will there be? Read on.

How many episodes are in Velma season 1?

At the time of this writing, there are only two episodes out. If you are not caught up, it’s not too late to do so as the adventures have just started. Season 1 will consist of 10 episodes, but the episode release schedule is a little different than what we are used to seeing.

Instead of dropping one new episode each week (or all episodes at once), HBO Max will be releasing two episodes each Thursday. Here’s what the episode schedule looks like:

  • Episode 1 “Velma,” Jan. 12
  • Episode 2 “The Candy (Wo)man,” Jan. 12
  • Episode 3 “Velma Kai,” Jan. 19
  • Episode 4 “Velma Makes a List,” Jan. 19
  • Episode 5 “Marching Band Sleepover,” Jan. 26
  • Episode 6 “The Sins of the Fathers and Some of the Mothers,” Jan. 26
  • Episode 7 “Fog Fest,” Feb. 2
  • Episode 8 “A Velma in the Woods,” Feb. 2
  • Episode 9 “Family (Wo)man,” Feb. 9
  • Episode 10 “The Brains of the Operation,” Feb. 9
