Renner stars as Mike McLusky, a member of the powerful McLusky family in Kingstown, Michigan. Mike works for his brother, Mitch (Kyle Chandler), the “Mayor” that calls all of the shots in the only thriving industry in town, incarceration. When Mitch dies, Mike steps in to become the new Mayor, a role he never wanted to occupy. According to the official synopsis, the series “tackles themes of systemic racism, corruption, and inequality in an attempt to bring order and justice to a town that has neither.”

Taylor Sheridan and Hugh Dillon created the Mayor of Kingstown. Sheridan is the creator behind popular Paramount shows like Yellowstone, 1883, 1923, and Tulsa King. The ensemble cast features Dianne Wiest, Hugh Dillon, Taylor Handley, Emma Laird, Tobi Bamtefa, Hamish Allan-Headley, Pha’rez Lass, Derek Webster, and Aidan Gillen.

How many episodes are in Mayor of Kingstown season 2?

Mayor of Kingstown is scheduled to premiere Sunday, Jan.15, 2023, on Paramount+. Like season 1, the show will release its episodes on a weekly basis. In terms of episode count, there is no official news on the number of episodes in season 2. However, season 1 consisted of 10 episodes so it’s more than likely that season 2 will consist of 10 episodes as well.

Season 2 will deal with the aftermath of the violent prison riot at the end of season 1. Mike will have to regain order in both the town and the prison. Watch the trailer below.
