The US Women’s National Team (USWNT) have their first match of 2023 tonight! The players will be facing off against New Zealand (dubbed the Football Ferns) in a friendly clash in Wellington/Te Whanganui-a-Tara, NZ at Sky Stadium.

This is the first in a set of two meetings for the teams. USWNT’s January camp is an opportunity for the players to stay and train in one of the host city’s for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup (New Zealand will share the honor with Australia as a co-host of the exciting event).

Sky Stadium, which will be known as Wellington Regional Stadium during the World Cup, is the site of USA’s second Group E match during the Cup in July of this year. Here’s how to watch the team’s first game in New Zealand!

What time is the USWNT vs. New Zealand match?

Kick off starts Tuesday, Jan. 17 at 10 p.m. ET/4 p.m. local New Zealand time. However, the game won’t be available to watch live on television for most viewers. The only network airing the match up is Universo at 10:05 p.m. The match can be streamed on multiple platforms

Where to stream the USWNT vs. New Zealand match

HBO Max will begin streaming the USWNT vs. New Zealand friendly at 9:30 p.m. with pre-game coverage and will also carry post-game coverage. The match can be streamed on Peacock and the Telemundo App as well.
