Can you watch The Last of Us if you don’t have HBO Max?

The Last of Us has become the show to watch in January and it only just premiered on Jan. 15. The series, based on the hit game of the same name, follows Joel, a man who’s been hired to smuggle the teenage, Ellie, out of a quarantine zone. Hardened due to a heartbreaking loss at the start of the global phenomenon that changed the face of society, Joel has been doing what he has to in order to survive.
Ellie’s a kid with a chip on her shoulder who could be the hope of the world. That’s a lot of pressure for anyone to bear, but what makes matters worse is that she has to stay alive long enough for society to see a brighter future. Considering what the world has turned into thanks to the fungi that have created plant-based zombie predators, that’s going to be easier said than done.
If you’re a fan of apocalyptic, dystopian science fiction, The Last of Us is definitely a show you’ll want to be checking out. In the age of streaming, TV lovers often are hitting up streaming services to watch their favorite shows. This particular series is available to view on HBO Max but that’s not the only place you can watch it. Here’s what we know!
Where to watch The Last of Us
The Last of Us is actually a HBO original series which means it airs weekly on that channel. New episodes of the show premiere Sundays at 9 p.m. ET. However, it’s not available on any other streaming platform in the United States outside of HBO Max unless you have an HBO Max add-on to your streaming service subscription.
