6. Laena in House of the Dragon

I know a lot of people are going to have Lucerys Valeryon on their list of TV deaths that hit the most, but for me it was another one. That’s not to say Luc’s death was easy to watch. I guess with it being war, it was inevitable.

Laena’s death just shows the dangers of childbirth, especially in the past. She couldn’t deliver the baby, and she didn’t want to go through a painful and drawn-out death. It didn’t help that Daemon wouldn’t approve a c-section because he knew it would be certain death for Laena. Instead, she took matters into her own hands and begged Vhagar to kill her.

Poor Vhagar. She did not want to kill her rider, but in the end, she took the command. And there’s no doubt that while Daemon is an extremely problematic character, he didn’t want Laena to die. Especially not by dragon fire.

5. Eddie in Stranger Things

Stranger Things Season 4 was a long wait, but it was worth it. That was except for one of the TV deaths of 2022. It’s all about Eddie.

He had such a bittersweet story throughout the season. The coward of the show turned hero, making sure that Dustin was safe before taking on the demobats in the Upside Down. He was proud of himself for how he went out, and that’s what made it even sadder. Maybe he should have run away!

4. Rosita in The Walking Dead

It’s so hard saying goodbye to characters we’ve come to know and love. When it comes to a series finale, though, we expect at least one big death. One of The Walking Dead‘s TV deaths of 2022 certainly hit us hard, mostly due to the circumstances.

Rosita was finally reunited with her daughter. We held our breath as Rosita fell into a pack of zombies, and were relieved when she got out alive and unscathed. Only, that wasn’t the case. She had been bitten, and her friends made sure she got the goodbye she deserved. It wasn’t the ending Rosita deserved after that fight, though, and that’s what made it so heartbreaking.
